Refund Policy

We would rather refund someone than keep money they feel they wasted. This page says how, without conditions hidden in the last paragraph.

Draft. The operator's legal details have not been filled in yet, so this document does not name a responsible entity and should not be relied on as a binding agreement. It will be completed before payments go live.

The policy

If a paid CareerWise purchase isn't what you expected, you can request a full refund within 14 days of the payment. You do not need to give a reason, and we do not ask you to prove anything.

This applies even though you will already have seen the report — a benchmark you disagree with is exactly the case where a refund is fair, and making you argue about it would be worse for both of us.

How to request one

Paddle is our merchant of record — legally the seller for your purchase — so refunds are issued through them. Either route works:

The money returns to the original payment method. Banks usually take a further 5–10 business days to show it, which is outside anyone's control but the bank's.

Subscriptions

Cancel a subscription any time from the link in your receipt email or by writing to us. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep Pro access until that period ends.

If a renewal charge catches you by surprise — you meant to cancel and didn't — tell us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it. We are not interested in revenue from people who thought they had already left.

The limits

Two things this policy does not cover:

SituationOutcome
Request made after 14 daysOutside the automatic window — write to us anyway. If something genuinely went wrong we will still sort it out.
Repeated buy-and-refund cycles from one accountWe may decline further purchases. The policy exists for people who are disappointed, not as a way to use the paid tier for free.

Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the UK, EU or another region with a legal cooling-off period for digital purchases, those rights apply on top of this policy and are never reduced by it. Where the law gives you longer than 14 days, the law wins.

Before you pay

The free tier exists so you can see the quality of the analysis before spending anything, and our methodology page sets out which figures are measured, which are estimated, and where the data is weak. We would rather you read that and decide not to buy than buy and feel misled.
